Acts 13:13-25
13Now Paul and his company set sail from Paphos, and came to Perga in Pamphylʹia. And John left them and returned to Jerusalem;
14but they passed on from Perga and came to Antioch of Pisidʹia. And on the sabbath day they went into the synagogue and sat down.
15After the reading of the law and the prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, “Brethren, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say it.”
16So Paul stood up, and motioning with his hand said: “Men of Israel, and you that fear God, listen.
17The God of this people Israel chose our fathers and made the people great during their stay in the land of Egypt, and with uplifted arm he led them out of it.
18And for about forty years he bore with them in the wilderness.
19And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land as an inheritance, for about four hundred and fifty years.
20And after that he gave them judges until Samuel the prophet.
21Then they asked for a king; and God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.
22And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king; of whom he testified and said, ‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’
23Of this man’s posterity God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, as he promised.
24Before his coming John had preached a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
25And as John was finishing his course, he said, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. No, but after me one is coming, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’
Responsorial Psalm
Psalms 89:2-3, 21-22, 25, 27
1I will sing of thy steadfast love, O LORD, for ever; with my mouth I will proclaim thy faithfulness to all generations.
2For thy steadfast love was established for ever, thy faithfulness is firm as the heavens.
20I have found David, my servant; with my holy oil I have anointed him;
21so that my hand shall ever abide with him, my arm also shall strengthen him.
24My faithfulness and my steadfast love shall be with him, and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
26He shall cry to me, ‘Thou art my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.’
Gospel
John 13:16-20
16Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him.
17If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.
18I am not speaking of you all; I know whom I have chosen; it is that the scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.’
19I tell you this now, before it takes place, that when it does take place you may believe that I am he.
20Truly, truly, I say to you, he who receives any one whom I send receives me; and he who receives me receives him who sent me.”

26For consider your call, brethren; not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth;
27but God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong,
28God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,
29so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.
30He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus, whom God made our wisdom, our righteousness and sanctification and redemption;
31therefore, as it is written, “Let him who boasts, boast of the Lord.”

1When I came to you, brethren, I did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God in lofty words or wisdom.
2For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
Responsorial Psalm
Psalms 112:1-7, 9
1Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in his commandments!
2His descendants will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.
3Wealth and riches are in his house; and his righteousness endures for ever.
4Light rises in the darkness for the upright; the LORD is gracious, merciful, and righteous.
5It is well with the man who deals generously and lends, who conducts his affairs with justice.
6For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered for ever.
7He is not afraid of evil tidings; his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD.
9He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures for ever; his horn is exalted in honor.
Gospel
Matthew 18:1-5
1At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them,
3and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
4Whoever humbles himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5“Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me;
