2 Thessalonians 2:1-3, 14-17

1Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our assembling to meet him, we beg you, brethren,
2not to be quickly shaken in mind or excited, either by spirit or by word, or by letter purporting to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.
3Let no one deceive you in any way; for that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of perdition,
14To this he called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter.
16Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace,
17comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.

Responsorial Psalm

Psalms 96:10-13

10Say among the nations, “The LORD reigns! Yea, the world is established, it shall never be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity.”
11Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it;
12let the field exult, and everything in it! Then shall all the trees of the wood sing for joy
13before the LORD, for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with his truth.

Gospel

Matthew 23:23-26

23“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you tithe mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law, justice and mercy and faith; these you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.
24You blind guides, straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel!
25“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you cleanse the outside of the cup and of the plate, but inside they are full of extortion and rapacity.
26You blind Pharisee! first cleanse the inside of the cup and of the plate, that the outside also may be clean.

2 Corinthians 10:17--11:2

10
17“Let him who boasts, boast of the Lord.”
18For it is not the man who commends himself that is accepted, but the man whom the Lord commends.
11
1I wish you would bear with me in a little foolishness. Do bear with me!
2I feel a divine jealousy for you, for I betrothed you to Christ to present you as a pure bride to her one husband.

Responsorial Psalm

Psalms 148:1-2, 11-14

1Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD from the heavens, praise him in the heights!
2Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his host!
11Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all rulers of the earth!
12Young men and maidens together, old men and children!
13Let them praise the name of the LORD, for his name alone is exalted; his glory is above earth and heaven.
14He has raised up a horn for his people, praise for all his saints, for the people of Israel who are near to him. Praise the LORD!

Gospel

Matthew 13:44-46

44“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
45“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls,
46who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.
